Following that opening, the Surah sets out a sequence of moral commands often compared to a charter of conduct: worship of Allah alone, kindness to parents, care for relatives and the poor, honesty in measure, and avoiding arrogance.
Also known as Bani Israil, it is named after the miraculous night journey described in its opening verse.
It contains a verse of prostration.
