It is named after the cave in which a group of young believers took refuge.
Four narratives give the Surah its structure: the People of the Cave, the man with two gardens, Musa (AS) with Khidr, and Dhul-Qarnayn. Each addresses a different trial, namely faith, wealth, knowledge and power. It is widely recited every Friday, and its opening verses are commonly memorised for protection.
